Just For You Running Coaching is here to help you be a better runner and get the most out of the sport we love through personal coaching and support. That means guiding you towards your running goals in a way that is fun, understandable and gets results.

We're here to provide expert advice and encouragement, theoretical and practical knowledge and the benefit of experience gained in races and the classroom with UK Athletics.

ABOUT Me

Just For You running coach Neil Macdonald

My name is Neil Macdonald and I'm the coach behind Just For You Running Coaching.

Based in Widnes in the North West of England, I can help you achieve and surpass your running goals.

How do I know? Because I'm just like you! I'm a normal bloke who fell in love with running.

Back in 2016, I was your typical bloke and didn't run at all. On a whim I entered a Santa Dash 5K in Liverpool and by the time I crossed the finish line, the running bug had me.

Since then, my passion for running has led me to lots more races and runs - including the London Marathon, the Great North Run and more than 150 parkruns around the UK.

I'm fully qualified as a coach with UK Athletics. Alongside my qualifications, I have learned some lessons the hard way about how to be a better runner.

Although I've packed a lot in over the past few years - and bought more running shoes than I ever thought I would as a result - I'm still the same normal person who loves going for a run.

I look forward to working with you in a way that's relatable and understandable, exciting and most importantly a lot of fun!

What we do

RUNNING ANALYSIS

A detailed 1-2-1 inspection of your running style and history to date, including video analysis.

This forms the basis of an action plan to correct imbalances in your running form and help you move more efficiently and injury free.

Typically lasts 90 minutes

ONE-TO-ONE COACHING

Ongoing face-to-face coaching and support to ensure you reach your running goals.

This can include taking on the session with you or advising and encouraging as you get running.

Typically lasts 60 minutes

TRAINING PLANS

Bespoke training plans created around your goals and lifestyle, to ensure you hit your targets be it getting fitter or a specific race from a 5k to a marathon.

Plans can last from six weeks to any time at all, depending on what you're looking for.
